Sadness took over everyone as WWE announced the release of James Ellsworth. James Ellsworth lived the dream, there’s no doubt about it. I mean, he got to kiss Carmella. He’s got that going for him.

All Carmella jokes aside, it’s quite amazing just how much James Ellsworth accomplished during his short stint in WWE. He’s already accomplished more than most people on the roster (not really, but you get what I mean). The Chinless One really has a career full of highlights to look back upon.

James Ellsworth Almost Wins the WWE Championship

Around this time last year, good old Jimmy found himself in the middle of a heated rivalry between Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles. Ellsworth found himself in a match against the Phenomenal One, and thanks to a whole lot of shenanigans, James picked up an unlikely victory over the WWE Champion.

A WWE title match was set for the following week, and all eyes were on Smackdown. Would Ellsworth win? Could Ellsworth win? Should Ellsworth win? And then the match started.

Styles easily outclassed and outwrestled his chinless opponent, but Ambrose (the timekeeper and ring announcer of the match) was rooting for Ellsworth. Ellsworth then nearly shocked the world when he hit his No Chin Music (thanks, Dave Otunga) on the champion. James Ellsworth was about to become WWE Champion.

Of course he didn’t (because duh), but he almost did. That’s what matters. His record against AJ Styles will forever be 3 – 1. Not even John Cena can claim such a statistic.

James Ellsworth > John Cena.

James Ellsworth Saves Survivor Series

At last year’s Survivor Series, Raw had a pretty stacked team. You had Universal Champion Kevin Owens and his best friend Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Braun Strowman. Strowman was the biggest threat to Team Smackdown, and with Raw winning both the Women’s Survivor Series match and the 20-man tag team match, Smackdown needed a win. The Big Hog came through.

After an aerial assault by Shane McMahon, Strowman was laid out on the outside. However, he got to his feet, and it was abundantly clear that he would make it to the ring before the 10 count and wreak all sorts of destruction unto Team Smackdown. And he would have, if not for James Ellsworth.

The Chinless One was appointed as the official mascot of Team Smackdown, and he had disappeared when the match started. He had plans to save the day, though, as he held onto Strowman’s foot and prevented him from entering the ring. The Monster Among Mountains of Men was counted out and eliminated. He was also positively incensed and threw Ellsworth off the stage (pictured above).

The Big Hog sacrificed himself, and no doubt he played a big role in Smackdown picking up the win that night.

James Ellsworth Wins Money in the Bank

Around some time late last year, James Ellsworth lost his way, most likely thanks to the poisonous influence of Carmella. Long story short, the two of them became good chums, and Ellsworth would do anything for his friend who was a girl.

5 months ago, Carmella found herself in the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank match. At one point during the match, it looked like Becky Lynch would be the one to emerge victorious and become the first ever Ms. Money in the Bank. The Chinless One would not let that stand. He tipped over the ladder and sent Lynch careening towards the ring. He then attempted to get Carmella to climb the ladder, but to no avail. With all possible options exhausted, Ellsworth did the unthinkable: he climbed the ladder and retrieved the case.

This of course caused its fair bit of controversy (which I thought was completely overblown and stupid, but that’s another story for another time), so a rematch was scheduled. Carmella won again, this time sans Ellsworth interference.

Technically, James Ellsworth won Money in the Bank.
