There are several reports going around on various websites that claim Samoa Joe was originally scheduled to be the 5th man on The Miz’s team for the upcoming TLC match, however that’s not the case.

The reports going around took Dave Meltzer’s remarks out of context from the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer “speculated” that many believed Samoa Joe would be revealed as the 5th member after The Miz announced on RAW that it wouldn’t be Curtis Axel.

“The show was constructed to make you think that a mystery fifth man that would join the heel team would be Curtis Axel. When it came out that it wasn’t a lot of speculation was on Samoa Joe, who is ready to return any time now.”

As you can see above, no where does Meltzer claim that Samoa Joe was the original plan. He was simply indicating that the viewers of RAW were speculating it could be Joe. We noted earlier that Kane has been in the plans for the past two weeks to be in the match.
