Block 2:
Continuing his thoughts on Mahal’s promo, Taz says that he liked A.J. Styles’ interruption. Styles’ interruption made sense from the perspective that Styles shouldn’t care about Mahal facing Lesnar, he should just be concerned with making sure that Mahal knows he’s his biggest threat on Smackdown Live right now.
Taz says that for the first time in a while the Sami Zayn character is very interesting right now. Taz loves this new side to Zayn and for the second week in a row we saw Zayn cut a fantastic heel promo. He loved the interaction between Zayn and Owens and he also thought Daniel Bryan played his role perfectly as well.
Taz also points out that some of the dialogue from Zayn and Owens had to be tough on Bryan, even though the show is a work and those lines were scripted. They continuously pointed out that Bryan was unable to get in the ring and wrestle, and Taz had to be the recipient of similar lines when injuries forced him out of the ring late in his career. Even though the promos were scripted, Taz admits that some of those lines were tough to hear.
A listener calls into the show and asks Taz why he would always wear sunglasses while commentating. Taz says he wore the sunglasses when he started commentating because he was new to that aspect of the business, and the sunglasses allowed him to cheat and look at his papers while he was on air without fans noticing.
