WWE Accidentally Reveals Original Plans for John Cena vs. Nakamura

As seen on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, Nakamura defeated John Cena clean in the main event of the show to earn the opportunity to face Jinder Mahal at this month’s SummerSlam event for the WWE Championship.

It appears that the clean finish wasn’t the original plan for the match between these two. The preview for Cena vs. Nakamura on the WWE app suggests that Baron Corbin was supposed to interfere in the match to get revenge on Nakamura. Corbin’s attack would backfire and Nakamura would still be awarded the victory over Cena. This obviously didn’t go down, as Nakamura got the clean win Tuesday night.
