He says that he enjoyed Cena’s promo last night, but he wishes Daniel Bryan would have waited until Cena was making his exit to the Gorilla position before interrupting him. Taz thought there was a little too much space between these guys while Bryan was making his announcement, and he also thought Bryan should have acknowledged the fact that they’re basically family through their relationships with the Bella sisters.
Taz says he’s not a fan of Cena coming and going from WWE all the time. Much like Jericho, Cena takes frequent absences to pursue other things and while Taz definitely doesn’t blame the talent for taking advantage of these opportunities, he believes that you should either be ‘there’, or ‘not there’. He admits that Cena and Jericho have busted their asses for years to earn this part-time schedule, and he gives them credit for that.
His issue revolves around the fact that part-time performers tend to cause morale issues in the locker room. When part-time Superstars return, the locker room rarely gets angry with the individual performer, it’s more of an anger directed at the front office for giving opportunities to guys that aren’t there year-round. Nonetheless, there’s a pecking order in the wrestling business and those guys have earned their stripes.
That sums up today’s episode of The Taz Show. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
