X-Pac informs that he read for the role that John Morrison ultimately portrayed in the show, and he asks Riley if he read for that role as well. Riley informs that he only read for the one part in GLOW, but he was lucky enough to get that part.
Riley says that he had a terrific experience filming his scenes for GLOW, and the entire staff and crew were incredible to him. He says the director had previously worked on major shows like The Sopranos, and he instantly showed his skill-set by letting the wrestlers control the wrestling scene they had to film. Riley asked the director for advice on his entrance for the wrestling scene, but the director told him that he was leaving that up to the professionals.
Riley informs that he certainly had a passion for broadcasting and he enjoyed doing that in NXT, but as he continued to get older he had the urge to get back into the ring. He really wanted to be a main event guy, and he knew what that felt like for a period of time. Once that feeling of being in demand started to disappear, he knew it might be time to move on. For this reason, his WWE release didn’t come as a surprise to him.
Riley admits that his body type can limit an actor in Hollywood. He recently read for a part and was told that he was ‘huge’. He says that the acting business is very different than the wrestling business because his body type is very normal in the wrestling business. He admits that he might have to lose some muscle mass in order to secure more mainstream roles, until he proves himself as a commodity in Hollywood.
