Superstars Who Have Thrived Through The Brand Split A Year Ago

Alexa Bliss

The best woman on Smackdown Live is now the best woman on RAW. Alexa Bliss being a part of the draft last year was a bit of a shock. The fact that this unproven NXT woman got a call-up over Bayley was shocking. In the next few months however Bliss proved herself as WWE’s best woman talker. On top of that, over the past year Bliss’ in ring work has been improving week in week out. The 3 times women’s champion has a huge future ahead and in one year already has an awesome history.

Bliss would have sunk if she went straight to a full roster of women. Charlotte and Sasha would have been the priorities through 2016 while the other women such as Becky, Naomi, Jax and Bayley would likely have had a better position than Bliss. A less crowded roster and a far better creative team which focused on all women allowed Bliss to shine. Bliss has the best and clearest character among the women as well as the best mic skills. Bliss’s in ring skills are fantastic also, just look at the Sasha Banks match from Great Balls of Fire.

Bliss has been able to develop and grow  in the past year. Going from Smackdown Live to RAW is testament to just how fantastic Bliss had been on Smackdown Live through to Wrestlemania. Bliss continues to shine as a character and a personality as well as an in ring talent. She created history by becoming the first woman to win women’s championships on both brands. The 25 year old will create more history like this in the coming years. And little miss Bliss can look back on the 2016 brand split as a launching pad for all of this.
