Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane and Rue from RueTV.
Right out of the gate Russo wonders why Ambrose didn’t strike Rollins with the chair during the opening segment of RAW. He says that by booking Ambrose to throw the chair out of the ring, WWE basically ‘cut the guy’s balls off’. If Dean Ambrose was actually a lunatic, he absolutely would have hit Rollins with that chair. They can adapt the story to make it work after that however they need to, but Ambrose HAD to hit Rollins with that chair. Russo says this is a prime example of how WWE kills their own characters.
Russo says that Ambrose and Rollins are supposed to be two brother anyways. WWE should have booked Ambrose to hit Rollins, and then these two ‘brothers’ should have fought it out in order to gain each other’s trust and respect back.
He can’t imagine booking ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin like this. Russo says Austin would have hit him with a chair if he booked Austin to not swing that chair. In the end, this all boils down to Vince McMahon’s thoughts on babyfaces versus heels, and babyfaces simply don’t hit other babyfaces with chairs in McMahon’s eyes.
