Taz opens today’s show by saying that he will be off on holidays for the rest of the week, and he will return with live shows next Monday, July 24th.
A listener calls into the show and asks Taz about Rob Van Dam’s WWE Title reign. The caller asks Taz if he thinks RVD’s reign was a failure. Taz says that although Van Dam’s reign was short, he thinks that WWE could have kept the Title on him longer. It’s a huge honour for a company to have enough faith in you to put their Title on you, so the length of a reign doesn’t matter, just getting it in the first place makes you a success.
The caller goes on to ask Taz if he thinks RVD let his fans down for getting in trouble shortly after winning the Title, which ultimately resulted in his short reign. Taz doesn’t think RVD let his fans down at all, but there’s no denying that RVD got in trouble with the company at the worst possible time. Regardless, he says that RVD is a free spirit who rarely has regrets.
Taz comments on the results of the Mae Young Classic, which was filmed last week. He says that there are several women in particular that he’s interested in seeing perform when the tournament airs on the WWE Network in August. There’s Santana Garret who he knew from TNA, Rachael Evers (formerly Ellering) who’s the daughter of Paul Ellering, as well as Sarah Logan who he says is a very good talent as well.
He admits that he snuck a peak at some of the tournament spoilers, and he’s surprised that some of these girls didnt have more success in the tournament.
