Blocks 1 & 2:
Taz opens today’s show by saying he really enjoyed NXT’s main event championship match last night between Bobby Roode and Roderick Strong. He says that they are two of the greatest in-ring tacticians in the business right now, so it was no surprise when they put together a great match last night. There was one thing about the match that bothered him, and he’s going to get into that later in the show.
A listener calls into the show and asks Taz how it was to work with Mike Adamle. He says that he always liked Adamle a lot, and he had the upmost respect for him as an athlete and as a broadcaster. However, he admits that it was very frustrating to work alongside Adamle at the commentary booth.
Adamle was sort of thrown into the professional wrestling blender, and he didn’t really understand the business or the characters that he was trying to get over as a commentator. Taz would become frustrated at times because Adamle would make mistakes, but everyone in the back and even Vince McMahon thought Adamle’s trials and tribulations were hilarious and very entertaining.
Taz recalls having a discussion with McMahon about Adamle, and McMahon was well aware of the fact that Taz was having trouble working with Adamle. Regardless, McMahon told Taz to suck it up and make it work, because Adamle’s entire presentation was entertaining as hell.
