Ross was very proud of WWE for putting the safety of all five women first, when planning out the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. It was a good match and the women took some chances (specifically Charlotte), but overall it was a pretty ‘safe’ MITB ladder match.
Ross says that the finish of the match didn’t leave him with the feeling he was hoping it would. The build up to this match had led him to believe that this would be a monumental, historic, glass ceiling-shattering match, but the finish didn’t really provide this. However, he admits that Ellsworth and Carmella are heels, and maybe this reaction from fans was what the company wanted.
Powell says it was nice to see Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis debut in WWE during this show. He thinks that if it wasn’t for Maria, Bennett would have started in NXT, but this package duo has great potential on Smackdown Live as well. Powell adds that when Maria arrived in Impact, she was arguably the best talker on that show.
Ross thought WWE delivered a nice piece of creative by having Roman Reigns take on Samoa Joe on RAW, and then having Strowman return costing Reigns the match. This was a good way to re-marry Reigns to Strowman, all while giving Joe another win as he heads into his Universal Title match against Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire.
