On today’s show Russo will address the fact that he was the topic of discussion on a recent episode of Bruce Prichard’s ‘Something to Wrestling With’. He says he worked with Prichard many years ago and he still considers him a friend, but some of the things he said during this show were simply false.
On his show, Prichard said that Russo misconstrued some of the things he wrote in his book ‘Forgiven’, and some other things he wrote were complete lies. Russo counters by saying that writing his two books are one of the highlights of his career, and he would never intentionally lie because that would ruin the credibility of his books.
Russo points out that this book was written one year after he left WCW, while all the memories were fresh in his head. Prichard is now commenting on these events 17 years later, so his recollection of these events may not be as accurate as he thinks. He also says that Prichard battled some pill and alcohol addictions during this time, so his words may not be trustworthy.
At one point during the show, Prichard confirmed a long-standing rumour that Russo was stealing ideas from ECW, and would often quote ECW programming during WWE creative meetings. Russo says that this is such a blanket statement. Sure, Russo liked some of the elements present in ECW programming and some of his ideas for RAW may have been influenced by what he saw on ECW, but saying he stole all of his ideas from ECW is simply false.
