Show informs that when he first arrived in WWE he was often criticized by Vince McMahon, and even though he was a former WCW Champion, he had to start at the bottom of WWE’s roster and work his way up the ladder. He says that was quite difficult for him but he had to suffer through it and persevere.
He says that things are quite different today and the roster can’t take an ‘ass chewing’ like that nowadays. Everything is handed to the young talents today, and if they make a mistake they’re patted on the back and told that everything’s going to be okay.
Jericho says that he experienced a similar thing when he first arrived in WWE. He eventually received a call from Bret Hart who told Jericho that Vince McMahon loves to break people down and build them back up in his image. Show agrees and says that when McMahon is done building you back up, you’ll be way better than you ever were before.
He says that he loved working with Undertaker, but he was always nervous when he worked with him because Undertaker was his mentor and he was always afraid he was going to mess up. He eventually earned Undertaker’s respect and they became peers, then they were able to have some real fun working together.
Show says that he has a lot of respect for what Jinder Mahal has done since returning in WWE. He says that Mahal is a great guy backstage, and he has a terrific new look that makes him a credible threat to anyone he steps into the ring with. For this reason, he recently let Mahal give him a bodyslam during a house show before Mahal became Champion.
He says that everybody knows that he’s not going to let just anybody bodyslam him, but this was his way of showing Mahal that he respected the work he was doing.
