Cole mentions that Ring Of Honour was a wonderful place to work, and he can’t thank that company enough for what they did for him and all the other independent wrestlers who are looking for an opportunity.
He informs that Jim Cornette was pivotal in getting him signed in ROH. Cornette saw him cut a promo one day and was very impressed, and this eventually led to him signing his first ROH contract. Cornette once said that ROH’s growth will be slow, but they just need to stick to the plan. Slow and steady wins the race, and that’s exactly what happened in ROH. Ross says that Cornette always had a great eye for talent.
Ross has often said that one of the most daunting tasks in the professional wrestling business is closing a ROH PPV, because by the time the main event comes on, the audience has already seen everything. Cole admits that closing a ROH show is very challenging especially when you’re the Champion. His reign as ROH Champion is the most pressure he has felt during his professional wrestling career.
Cole informs that his girlfriend, Britt Baker, is about to finish dentistry school all while travelling as a professional wrestler on the weekend. He says she has a tremendous work ethic, and it takes a lot of focus to pull off two full time schedules like that. He says that he will be tagging with her in an inter-gender tag match at an upcoming Wrestle Circus event and he’s looking forward to that.
