This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was perhaps the single worst televised show from the WWE this year. Terrible segments, poor match booking, and a repetitive match line-up. The show was bad from start to finish.
Aside from a brief resurgence after the shake-up, the product has been fairly stale for a while now. Many fans have started to grow tired of the show.
Rumors have gone around the internet this past week as to why the company is relying so much on multi-man matches. They’re just waiting to get started with their big summer storylines. This seems like a ridiculous approach as many fans are growing tired of the same thing over and over.
Raw is not in a good place creatively at the moment, and the show needs an injection of life this summer if it is going to stop the rot. Here is a look at five big summer storylines that could help save Raw this summer.
The Return of the Shield
Many will decry this suggestion as being far too soon, but a Shield reunion would make perfect sense right about now. Not only are are all 3 men on the same roster at the moment, but they are also all faces. They should be able to get their act together and work on the same page.
Aside from the practicalities, however, all 3 men really need this right now. The Reigns experiment is still failing miserably, and fans will never cheer him as a solo performer. Rollins’ face turn has been hugely underwhelming and he appears to have no real sense of direction once he is done with Samoa Joe. Dean Ambrose will likely be the most aimless of all once he has lost the Intercontinental title belt.
Reuniting The Shield will not only benefit the careers of all 3 men involved, but it will also help boost interest in Raw. The show that is somehow getting increasingly worse week after week. A potential feud with The Club could also be on the cards somewhere down the line, and I refuse to believe there is anybody who doesn’t want to see that.
