Blocks 3 & 4:
Taz says that he noticed a major issue during the commentary of Aleister Black’s match on NXT this week. Tom Phillips asked Nigel McGuiness a question but rather than answering the question, McGuiness just trailed off and failed to provide an answer. Taz says that a colour commentator’s job is to provide insight and answer questions when the time is right.
It was absolutely vital that McGuiness answered Phillip’s question but he failed to do so. Taz says that even providing some random cliche line is better than not answering the question at all. He adds that he’s always been a fan of McGuiness and his commentary work is usually good, but this oversight should have never happened.
Another listener calls into the show and asks Taz if he thinks WWE will ever consider swapping talent with other promotions. Taz says that with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at the forefront anything is possible. Vince McMahon was never overly excited about those types of opportunities because he was always in a very competitive frame of mind. We mustn’t forget that WWE wasn’t always the massive, successful company that it is today.
