2) Dolph Ziggler- Raw after Wrestlemania 2012
The Raw after Wrestlemania has a fine history of unforgettable moments, and one of the best in recent memory was Dolph Ziggler’s Money in the Bank cash-in in 2012.
Ziggler had won the Money in the Bank contract at Money in the Bank 2011 and his run with the briefcase had seen him try, and fail to cash in on the champion on several occasions.
At Wrestlemania 29, Ziggler had taken part in a losing effort with Big E against the then tag-team champions Team Hell No, while World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio retained his belt against Jack Swagger.
The following night on Raw Del Rio had defeated Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger in a handicap match when Dolph Ziggler’s music hit. The fans went absolutely crazy and continued doing so as Ziggler hit the zig-zag and won his second World Heavyweight championship.
Ziggler’s run with the belt was ultimately cut short when he suffered a concussion only weeks after winning it. He lost the belt in his first defense against Alberto Del Rio at Payback only 69 days after winning it. Regardless of what followed, though, this is still arguably the highlight of Ziggler’s run with the company.
