Sid’s run with the WWE is infamous for his backstage heat, and questionable ability between the ropes, so much so that it’s easy to forget that the big man actually held the WWE twice during his stint with the company.
Sid’s first reign started at Survivor Series 1996, when he defeated Shawn Michaels for the championship, only to lose it back to The Heartbreak Kid 2 months later at The Royal Rumble.
His second, saw him beat Bret Hart one night after Hart had won the belt, which had been vacated by Michaels a few weeks before. Sid’s second reign would last only a little over 30 days when he would lose the title to The Undertaker in the main event of Wrestlemania 13.
Sid’s reigns weren’t terrible, as such, they were just both transitional ones that are very easily forgotten.
