Russo starts today’s show by speaking about Jinder Mahal’s WWE Championship win at Backlash on Sunday. He says that for once WWE did the right thing by putting the Title on Mahal. He couldn’t care less about the fact that Mahal mightn’t be the greatest worker in the world because he more than makes up for it with the amount of passion he shows every time he’s on the television.

Russo would leave the WWE Title on Mahal until someone arrives in WWE and shows more passion than Mahal, because he’s on a different level right now. Russo also wishes he was able to work with Mahal creatively, because he would turn Mahal into an absolute monster heel that nobody could touch – just like the good ol’ days.

If Russo was booking right now, he’d have Cena face Mahal next and put him over. Once Cena puts over Mahal, all of a sudden WWE will have a ‘next level’ heel on their hands. He just hopes that WWE doesn’t venture into a 50/50 booking scenario with Mahal, because they’ve been doing that a lot lately and Mahal deserves better than that.
