Russo’s guest asks him if he believes WWE’s product will improve once Vince McMahon steps away. Russo doesn’t think it will improve at all because Triple H is going to look at it from a wrestler’s point of view which isn’t good, and Stephanie is simply awful. The only saving grace he sees is Shane McMahon, who doesn’t have a high-strung bone in his body. Shane is level-headed and could potentially revive the company.
Russo says that when he was writing for WWE, their main goal for RAW was to keep people from going to bed as they led into their third hour. It’s obvious to Russo that WWE has given up on that now, because they started the third hour with Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox, and then ended the show with a ‘nothing’ match between Ambrose and Wyatt, which had nothing at stake.
Russo says that the only thing he really enjoys about Monday Night RAW at this point is Alexa Bliss’ thighs. Overall he calls this show a ‘disgrace’.
A listener writes into the show and asks Russo who he considers to be the most underrated Superstar during the attitude era. Russo says that several Superstars such as Gangrel, D-Lo Brown, Marc Mero and Billy Gunn were all incredibly underrated.
