Jericho welcomes Dave Bautista to the show.
Jericho asks Bautista about his tattoos, and whether they impact his ability to get certain film roles. He says that Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy is his bread and butter character right now, and it doesn’t impact that role due to the body and face paint he wears. He admits that he might get some parts due to his tattoos, and may lose some parts due to them as well. He’s not worried about it because his image is what it is.
He says that when he first decided to become an actor, he didn’t want to be typecast as a ‘bodybuilder action movie guy’. He lost some weight and tried to look more ‘normal’ in an attempt to get more acting roles, but he has now changed his mind on that. He has decided to embrace his size and go after the big action blockbuster roles.
He admits that he only has a short window remaining in his acting career because his size limits him and as he gets older, his frame will diminish and that will limit him even more. He’s starting to look more into the production side of things, so he can begin to think about retiring from his career in front of the cameras.
