Ryback lists a few wrestling moves which he really hates. He says the piledriver is a needlessly dangerous move which looks fake and can be potentially career-ending. He has never taken a piledriver and he never will. Something else that really bothers Ryback is wrestlers who ‘no-sell’ German Suplexes. He says that is a devastating move that needs to be respected more by the performers.
He fears that if indie performers continue to worry more about getting their spots in rather than selling, the business is going to be in real trouble in the years to come. He urges these performers to learn how to put together a match, because they’re ruining professional wrestling with their antics right now.
Ryback also says that he can’t stand it when a cruiserweight performer dives to the outside of the ring taking out multiple competitors. He says that those spots look so contrived, and they expose the business in his opinion.
Ryback says that once he gets healthy there are multiple wrestlers that he hopes to work with. Kenny Omega, Zach Sabre Jr., Kyle O’Reilly, Sami Callihan, Keith Lee, Ricochet, AR Fox, Jeff Cobb, John Silver, and Grim round out his top 10 competitors for the remainder of 2017.
That sums up this week’s episode of Conversation with the Big Guy. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
