Russo says that Title changes in WWE are so common now it’s becoming somewhat of a flavour of the week. It’s as if WWE gets’s high on one performer and they put the Title on them, and then the next week they get bored and flip the Title to a new talent. Russo is a big fan of Alexa Bliss and he thinks she ‘gets it’. He hopes WWE lets her run with the Title for a while.
He says that the only reason Bayley is over with the kids is because of the balloons that she uses during her entrances. He also thinks there’s a disconnect in her character. If her gimmick is a ‘superfan’ who was lucky enough to make it to WWE, then that needs to remain a constant. Unfortunately, it’s hard to imagine her as a credible threat when that’s her gimmick.
Russo believes that WWE is inconsistent with a number of their performer’s characters at the moment. He says that one day Kevin Owens is the ‘face of America’, and the next day he’s a prizefighter again. Other performers like Austin Aries don’t appear to have a gimmick at all.
Russo says that he loved everything about the House of Horrors match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt. He says that this was something different than the same old thing we see on WWE television week after week. This was something that would have fit right into the attitude era, and Russo doesn’t understand why WWE refuses to do this type of thing more often.
