10 of the Worst PPV Names in WWE History

Capitol Punishment

Another location, another lazy pun. This time around the company was headed to Washington DC and what better pun to make than one about the death penalty?  The WWE’s first, and only Capitol Punishment PPV took place in 2011- replacing the short-lived Fatal 4 way PPV.

The show is remembered for a number of reasons- mostly because it featured R-Truth competing for the WWE title in the main event, but also because it had one of the worst posters in recent WWE history, some ridiculous promos featuring edited footage of Barrack Obama ‘interviewing’ WWE stars, and one of the stupidest names for a PPV in the 21st century.

Needless to say, the PPV was dropped the next year and replaced by the infinitely more popular No Way Out.
