Samoa Joe Decimates Seth Rollins

On the face of it, WWE has booked themselves into a corner with this match up. Samoa Joe is currently unbeaten on WWE television, while Seth Rollins is currently having a renaissance with the fans after his impressive performance and victory over Triple H at Wrestlemania. Neither man can win clean without damaging the other’s momentum, which means WWE will likely employ some shenanigans on Sunday night to protect both men.

While another superstar interrupting on Joe’s behalf is a possibility, Joe getting himself disqualified seems a better option. Seth is at his best when he is an underdog of sorts, as his reaction at Mania showed, so having Joe instantly target Rollin’s knee and taking him out would get fans on his side and keep Joe looking like the mercenary he is being portrayed as. A brief fightback from Rollins would get the fans hopeful, before Joe loses his temper and just destroys him, using several weapons, then choking him out and leaving him unconscious in the middle of the ring, getting himself DQ’d in the process, seems a smart way to end the bout.

This would benefit everyone involved. Rollins wouldn’t look weak because he had been screwed by Joe using weapons, Joe would continue to look like a monster, and the company could continue the feud through to Extreme Rules, where the two could face off in a No DQ match of some kind.
