Russo says that the Bayley promo was absolutely horrible. He says that it was a cookie-cutter promo, and all you have to do is substitute the babyface and heel’s names. He adds that Bayley, Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks are all horrible actresses and they need to be produced better, because they’re not improving. He suggests that NXT talents start practicing their acting and promos more, instead of working on their entrances.
If the live audience wasn’t already dead before, WWE decided to have Curt Hawkins take on Apollo Crews. WWE has given fans no reason to care about either of those performers, and the live audience reacted exactly as you’d expect they would in that case, with silence.
Russo says that he has no idea why Austin Aries is always walking around with bananas now. He says that Austin Aries is basically Dwyane Gill from the attitude era, except Aries is treated like a star and has legitimate dialogue with Kurt Angle. Russo simply can’t believe it.
He says that while he was working in TNA he would often say that half of their talents didn’t deserve to be highlighted on television, but he never thought he’d be saying the same thing about WWE. That’s a true signal of how far WWE has fallen in Russo’s opinion.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
