The Ross Report Recap w/ Rey Mysterio – Training His Son to Wrestle, One More Match for Kurt Angle, Who’s his Biggest Influence? More!
Eddie Guerrero was one performer who really urged Mysterio to slow down in the ring early on in his career. Scott Hall was another performer who stressed to Mysterio how important selling is during a match. He also credits Kurt Angle and Triple H as people who really helped him hone his craft in the ring.
Mysterio says that his most influential Superstar was a performer by the name of ‘Super Astro’. He was a shorter performer, who did the most amazing feats of athleticism in the air and Mysterio was amazed by him right from the start. He performed in the 70s and 80s, and Mysterio urges listeners to find some video of Super Astro online.
Mysterio considers it s blessing to be a ‘cruiserweight’. He had to work a lot harder than other people to do certain things, and if he didn’t have to work that hard he fears that his life may have went in a different direction altogether.
He’d love to see Kurt Angle have one more match in WWE so he can go out the way he wants, in the middle of a WWE ring. He was able to work with Angle recently and he informs that Angle is just as good as ever in the ring, so there should be no hesitation from WWE to put him in there for one more big match. The question will be, who’s Angle’s opponent?
That sums up today’s episode of The Ross Report. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
