Taz thought last night’s go-home episode of Monday Night RAW ‘stunk’. For a show that is supposed to drive fans to the PPV on Sunday night, he thought WWE did a poor job of making fans care about the ‘Payback’ PPV.
One of the biggest matches on the PPV is Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns, but last night’s RAW did little to promote that match. Reigns was reportedly backstage at RAW last night, and Taz thought it would have been beneficial to have Reigns appear on the show. Instead, we saw Strowman destroy Kalisto yet again, and that was the end of that.
Taz also points out that there’s one key element missing from this Sunday’s show, the Universal Championship. This is the problem with putting the Title on a part-time performer, and Taz still wishes WWE would have had Balor return from injury and reclaim his Title. Instead of having Balor main event ‘Payback’ as the Universal Champion, he’s in a talking segment on the pre-show. Taz thinks this is a travesty.
Taz just doesn’t understand WWE’s direction for the Universal Title right now. There’s still no number one contender, and although Heyman cut a promo on Reigns the night after WrestleMania, WWE went a completely different route with Reigns after that.
