Ryback is joined on today’s show by his co-host Pat Buck.
Buck informs that he has been suffering from an infection in his leg. Luckily he has medical insurance because the doctor visits and medications are becoming very expensive. Ryback says that insurance is of vital importance, especially for independent contractors such as professional wrestlers.
Buck owns and operates a wrestling school and indie promotion, and Ryback feels that Buck’s job is more about teaching life lessons than it is about teaching people how to ‘fake fight’. When you’re starting your career as a young professional wrestler, you have so many things to learn about financial and health management, and a wrestling school is a great place to begin learning about those things.
Ryback says that he always has to shave his head before indie appearances in order to give everyone the true Ryback experience that they witnessed on WWE television. He also points out that he never shaved his head completely bald when he worked the ‘Skip Sheffield’ gimmick, and he doesn’t want people thinking about Skip Sheffield when they see him at an indie show.
He says that certain guys like Joey Ryan can pull off body hair, but he’s not one of them.
