After his program with The Miz ended, he was able to go out on RAW and cut a promo as himself and the fans ate it up. He says that everyone in the back was very surprised by the reaction he received but he was not. Unfortunately, by the next week he was dressing up as Randy Savage and he couldn’t control the creative direction that the company took after that.
He says he really would have loved to see the babyface side of his ‘Intellectual Saviour of the Masses’ character. That character was very witty and sarcastic, and he thinks he could have gotten over as a babyface if WWE would have went that route. He says the pink tights were his idea, but the blue robe was a suggestion by Dusty Rhodes.
Sandown says he had a lot of fun performing as the Liberace-inspired character on TNA television. He says he wanted to try this character because he had to confirm to himself that he could still get people to hate him. He thought he had great chemistry with Rockstar Spud, and he says Spud is so talented that he should be a Millionaire.
Sandow also had a great time tagging with Cody Rhodes as one half of the Rhodes Scholars. He says he wouldn’t have hated a Tag Team Title run, but their priority was making good, entertaining television and he thought they accomplished that. He says that Titles aren’t everything.
That sums up today’s episode of X-Pac 1, 2, 360. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
