It was reported on yesterday’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that the WWE Superstar Shakeup was in fact the draft for this year. Dave Meltzer said that WWE dropped the name “draft” because Vince McMahon no longer wanted to use that term.

McMahon has been notorious for not wanting to use certain words or phrases in the past. Words such as “belt” and “shot” has been banned from WWE programming. Vince even went as far as refusing to call the Camping World Stadium by that name at WrestleMania 33. On television they called the stadium by it’s old name, Citrus Bowl.

As far as having a secondary “draft” later this year after SummerSlam, it is now unknown. We will keep you updated if we hear anything new.
