Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane and Glenn Gilbertti (Disco Inferno).
Gilbertti says that Kevin Owens’ new look on Smackdown Live last week was a much better look for him. Owens was clean-shaven and wearing a suit, and from a storyline perspective, Gilbertti thinks this makes a lot of sense for the Owens character. Owens is a prizefighter, and prizefighters always look respectable when they’re seen outside of the ring or the octagon.
He continues by saying that a lot of the performers that WWE has brought in from promotions like ROH were accustomed to looking a certain way. WWE allowed them to come in looking the same way that they did in the indie promotions, but as time goes by you can tell that they’re slowly transitioning these guys into looking like stars.
Gilbertti says if he was working on WWE television today, he would go shopping and spend a lot of money in an attempt to be the best dressed Superstar on the roster. Russo says that’s exactly what The Rock did during the attitude era, and it worked out just fine for him.
