The Taz Show Recap – Improving the Cruiserweights, Defining ECW Originals, Will WWE Break the Hardys? More!
Taz opens today’s show by discussing his weekend signing with Sabu at a wrestling event in New York. He says that he had a terrific time, and it was really great seeing so many loyal listeners of the Taz Show show up to say hello.
He was also very happy to be able to shoot the breeze with his old friend Sabu for the first time in several years. He informs that Sabu looked great, and his hip in healing nicely after his recent surgery. Sabu is still unable to get in the ring and bump the way he used to, but Taz is sure it’s only a matter of time before we see Sabu up to his old tricks in a wrestling ring again.
A listener calls into the show and says he thinks that WWE can improve 205 Live by implementing some elements of Japanese wrestling. They should make the matches feel more realistic by having trainers at ringside with ice packs and other things of this nature, which will make the contests feel more realistic. Taz says he doesn’t hate that idea at all, and he admits that WWE has to do something because the cruiserweights have lost significant momentum since the Cruiserweight Classic.
As far as the possibility of WWE making the Cruiserweight Classic an annual tournament, Taz is not sure that the second event would have as much success as the inaugural event did last year. He thinks that before WWE decides to have another cruiserweight tournament, they should focus on their current cruiserweight division and 205 Live, to ensure they’re doing justice to their current crop of performers.
