In another clip of Meltzer, he says that A.J. Styles will be moving to Monday Night RAW during the Superstar Shake-up, and this move was ‘on the books’ for months now. Russo laughs as he points out that Styles obviously didn’t move to RAW, and Meltzer was wrong in this case. Russo wonders what ‘on the books’ means to Meltzer because he’s not in those creative meetings, and things change on a daily basis within WWE.
Russo says that these dirt sheet writers are one thing, but the people who listen to them are a whole other thing. With so many great podcasts out there featuring legitimate former wrestlers or professionals who worked in the business, why would anyone listen to these ‘journalists’ who have never had their foot in the door of the wrestling business.
He says that none of these guys have any credentials, and all they’re doing is spouting their uninformed opinions. He suggests that people listen to the shows of Steve Austin, Taz or Jim Ross for example, since these guys have actually made a living in the business of professional wrestling.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
