Russo says that he’s very interested in the Nia Jax character. WWE zooms in on her eyes during the beginning of her entrance, and Russo says that she has a beautiful face. Unfortunately, Jax is still very green in the ring, and her match with Charlotte was quite sloppy on Monday. He wouldn’t put Jax in a position with that type of physical responsibility at this point, because Charlotte had to carry her through this match, and there were a couple very dangerous looking spots.
He admits that he cringes every time Charlotte does a moonsault to the outside of the ring. He wishes that Charlotte would take that move out of her arsenal because she doesn’t need to be doing that kind of thing.
Russo says that by announcing, ‘Finn Balor in action tonight’, you already tell your audience that Balor’s opponent doesn’t matter. When the match finally begins we find out that Balor’s opponent is Jinder Mahal, who looks great. Russo wishes WWE would do something more with Mahal, like having him destroy James Ellsworth in a squash match or two.
Russo points out that he absolutely sees the talent in Finn Balor, he just wishes that we would see more of the Demon, and less of his ‘normal’ gimmick. Russo also liked the end of the match, when Smackdown’s Bray Wyatt appeared and had a few words for Balor.
Russo doesn’t understand why WWE didn’t promote their main event until two hours into the show. That was a big mistake in Russo’s opinion. He also thinks that the non-title match to finish the show should have had some type of stipulation in order to make fans care about it more.
