Ross opens today’s show by speaking about WWE’s Superstar Shake-up.
He thinks that The Miz and Maryse moving to RAW is a great thing for both talents. They have been doing terrific work on Smackdown Live, and this gives them an opportunity to up their work rate yet again on the red brand. Maryse has been a very valuable addition to The Miz’s persona and he’s looking forward to seeing them work on RAW, because he thinks they’re so very close to reaching the top of the mountain in WWE.
Ross thought it was interesting that Bray Wyatt appeared on RAW and had a few words for Finn Balor. He still believes that WWE is fighting an uphill battle in continuing to present Wyatt as a heel. Ross thinks Wyatt is a character babyface in the making, and with a quick creative shift, they could have a massive fan favourite on their hands.
He also thinks that all the other performers who were moved during the Superstar Shake-up have a new opportunity with a fresh, clean slate in front of them. This is a chance for talents such as Rhyno/Slater, Alexa Bliss, and everyone else to maximize their minutes again, and continue to grow their brands.
Ross thought that Michael Cole’s sign off on Monday night at the end of RAW was very good, as he made sure to tell the audience that the Superstar Shake-up will be continuing the next night on Smackdown Live. Ross believes that viewers love compelling, episodic television because it’s easier to follow.
