Dinner with the King Recap – Jim Ross’ Return, The Undertaker’s Debut in Memphis, Controversy Surrounding JBL, More!
Lawler is joined on today’s show by Glenn Moore.
Lawer informs that he had a very busy weekend in Orlando for WrestleMania. He did an awful lot of talking, and it really strained his voice. When he suffered his cardiac arrest at the announce desk nearly five years ago, he woke up in the hospital with a ventilator down his throat. He believes that did some real damage to his throat and vocal cords, because he loses his voice rather easily nowadays.
He says it was great to see his old friend Jim Ross over the weekend, only days after Ross lost his wife Jan. He thinks it was a good thing for Ross to be around old friends at that difficult time, because there’s nothing worse than being alone during a time like that.
He was particularly happy to see Ross return to the announce booth to call The Undertaker’s final match at WrestleMania. Ross has signed a two-year deal with WWE, and Lawler wouldn’t be surprised to get a call somewhere down the road informing him that WWE is going to ‘put the band back together’, so he and Ross could call one or two big matches together on WWE PPVs.
