Taz opens today’s show by saying WWE’s booking of Roman Reigns last night was probably the worst injustice they’ve ever done to that character. Just when Taz thought WWE was going to begin booking Reigns with an edge, they had him go straight-up babyface in his sit down interview with Michael Cole last night.
In addition to that, after having Reigns defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania they had him get destroyed beyond belief on last night’s show. Taz truly believed that Strowman had to do something drastic to get his heat back after playing third wheel in the Undertaker/Reigns feud, but doing this to Reigns was the wrong approach because now Strowman is a babyface.
In terms of the actual stunt work during this backstage segment, he thought that was actually pretty cool. He’s okay with fans dissecting some elements of the booking, but don’t waste your time dissecting these types of stunts. You’re watching a television show, and Reigns was obviously not on that stretcher when Strowman flipped him over the loading dock. Instead of picking these things apart, just try to enjoy the show.
Taz thinks Vince McMahon and WWE officials have been really thick-headed this whole time while refusing to turn Reigns heel, and last night’s angle really drove that point home. While this angle attempted to get heat on Strowman and create sympathy for Reigns, the fans cheered the vicious attack and Strowman is basically a babyface at this point.
