Russo explains that today’s show will expose wrestling marks and their favourite dirt sheets.
He says that guys like PWI’s Dave Scherer, Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer and PWI’s Mike Johnson are all terrifying to look at. He also says that in order to write about professional wrestling the way these guys do, they’re either a homosexual, have homosexual tendencies, or are in the closet.
Russo plays a clip from Ryan Satin’s Pro Wrestling Sheet podcast. In this clip, Satin and his colleagues say that Daniel Bryan appears condescending on Total Divas. Russo thinks this is stupid because they’re discussing how someone is acting on a reality television show. Russo says that those guys have no relationship with Bryan and have never worked with Bryan, so they can’t pass judgement on him based off of a reality show.
Russo has watched that show from time to time and although he doesn’t know John Cena at all, he knows the tendency of wrestlers from his time working in the business. There’s no doubt in his mind that Cena, Bryan and the other performers on that show are amping it up for the program. It’s a reality show that’s most certainly at least partially scripted.
