The Taz Show Recap – Nakamura Rises, Strategic Debuts by WWE This Week, Reigns Heading to Smackdown? More!
A listener calls into the show and informs The Hardy Boyz were actually celebrating an anniversary on Sunday night as they made their triumphant return to WWE and won the Tag Team Titles. On April 2nd, 2007, ten years ago to the day, Matt and Jeff won the WWE World Tag Team Titles in Ohio. Taz was unaware of this and is surprised by the fact that WWE didn’t bring that up on the broadcast.
Taz says that the violinist appearing out of nowhere to begin Nakamura’s entrance was amazing, but he does point out that former guest of the Taz Show, Katie Linnendoll, and her two friends did a terrific cover of Nakamura’s theme music on her Youtube channel. He thinks WWE should hire them to perform their cover live for one of Nakamura’s upcoming entrances.
For those fans who are being critical of WWE debuting Nakamura in the middle of a Miz promo, Taz points out that before WWE is a wrestling company, they’re an entertainment company who puts on a television show. This debut felt like a fantastic television moment to Taz, as it was shocking and the production of it was very well done.
A listener calls into the show and asks Taz if he thinks WWE is picking too many talents out of NXT without having new stars to replace them there. Taz says that Triple H probably isn’t a fan of this, but at the end of the day NXT is a feeder system, and it’s existence is based around getting new talents ready to debut on RAW or Smackdown.
