The Taz Show Recap – RAW Underwhelms, Undertaker Passing the Torch, Cruiserweights Moved to Pre-Show, More!
Taz welcomes Mike Johnson from PWInsider to the show.
Johnson agrees with Taz in saying that last night’s show didn’t feel important at all it. It felt like ‘just another show’ in Johnson’s opinion. Johnson didn’t mind the Women’s Championship angle kicking off the show but he isn’t a fan of how the women are being presented. Bayley is Champion, but she’s still 3rd place in a 3 horse race right now behind Sasha and Charlotte in terms of how they’re being presented.
He thought that WWE did a lot of things backwards on last night’s show. Goldberg got the best of Brock Lesnar again, which really didn’t show us anything different than the last 3 months. Triple H also treated Seth Rollins like a dog again on last night’s show, effectively cutting off Rollins’ legs heading into WrestleMania. Johnson points out that Rollins basically has to win this match now at ‘Mania because of how he has been emasculated during this build up.
Johnson feels that WrestleMania is lacking that ‘great match’ potential. There are lots of attractions and profile matches, but he feels the show is lacking the potential for a 5 star match. He says that since Samoa Joe and Finn Balor are left without matches, he thinks WWE could have had them face each other. It would have taken one promo to set up Joe vs. Balor for this show, and those two guys would have tore the house down.
Johnson asks Taz which ECW original he would induct into the WWE Hall of Fame first, if he was given the choice. Taz says that Rob Van Dam should probably be the first ECW original to go into the HOF, because Van Dam has had a successful, lengthy career spanning many years and various promotions.
