Continuing his thoughts from the last segment, Taz thinks that WWE needs to make a big impact on RAW next Monday as they lead into WrestleMania. He thinks Finn Balor should return on RAW and somhow make his way into the Universal Title match at WrestleMania where he can re-claim the Title he never lost. Perhaps Triple H plays a factor in getting Balor into the match, since he seems to be building some form of a faction consisting of former NXT Champions who he recruited.
Taz says that either way, Goldberg is going to have to take the loss in this match. If he was booking, he’d have Lesnar beat up Goldberg prior to Balor pinning Goldberg to win. This would make the finish of the match more believable than if Balor got the upper hand physically on either Lesnar or Goldberg.
Taz admits that from WWE’s perspective, he’s sure that they’re thinking that Lesnar needs a win at WrestleMania, given the way he has been booked since SummerSlam. While that makes sense to him as well, having the Universal Title around the waist of another part-time talent for an extended period of time does not sit well with Taz.
Taz doesn’t think that WWE is worried about part-timers holding their Title belts at all anymore. Years ago, wrestling promotions made their money at house shows so your Champion had to be a full-time talent. Nowadays, WWE is focused on the WWE Network and that’s where they make the majority of the revenues, so it doesn’t really matter if your Champion is not on the road 24/7.
