X-Pac opens today’s show speaking about the news that Jim Cornette will induct the Rock N’ Roll Express into the WWE Hall of Fame later this month. He says that Cornette was the only choice for this induction, and if anyone else was chosen to induct The Rock N’ Roll Express it simply wouldn’t have worked.
He informs that he is unsure who he’d ask to induct him if he were ever chosen to be entered into the WWE Hall of Fame, but he thinks that there are lots of other people who deserve to be in there before he gets inducted.
X-Pac sends his condolences to Jim Ross, who’s wife Jan passed away yesterday. X-Pac tears up as he points out that anyone who’s married to someone in the wrestling business for that long has to be a saint, and Jan certainly was. He’s completely saddened by the news of Jan’s passing, and he admits that it was difficult for him to record this show today.
X-Pac welcomes Vince Russo to the show.
Russo informs that he began working for WWE in 1993 as a freelance writer for the WWE Magazine. He started working for the company full-time in 1994.
He says that a lot of the heat that he has with certain people from the business derives from professional relationships, not personal ones. It’s very tough managing the career arcs of 50 or more wrestlers who all want to be Champion, when there’s only one of those spots available. For this reason, he believes some talents started holding grudges against him. He doesn’t think he has heat with many people from the business from a personal standpoint whatsoever.
