The Taz Show Recap – Smackdown Analysis, Mauro Ranallo’s No-Show, Styles & Shane Deliver, More!

Block 2:

Taz recalls him, Josh Matthews and Michael Cole driving 2 and a half days to get to a Smackdown taping at one point. He informs that they would usually fly out on Monday for their Smackdown taping on Tuesday, but this week there was bad weather on the way so they decided to fly out on Saturday night instead to guarantee that they’d be there for Tuesday.

They showed up at the airport on Saturday night but their flight was cancelled because the bad weather had started early. They realized their only option was to rent a car and drive, so that’s what they did. Taz says that Josh Matthews drove the whole way in terrible visibility and they got there at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, just in time for the 12 PM production meeting.

Taz informs that both his wife and Cole’s wife were very upset with their decision to drive in those terrible conditions, but Taz says they had a responsibility to WWE to make that taping so they did what they had to do. He says there were no high fives for for making it there once they arrived at the arena because it’s an expectation that you get to these shows. That’s your job.

After the build-up on last night’s episode of Smackdown Live, he thinks you’d have to be out of your mind to not want to see A.J. Styles vs. Shane McMahon at WrestleMania now. He thought they did a tremendous job of building this match last night, and he thought Styles’ backstage attack was fantastic. Styles brought some legit aggression and violence in this segment, and Shane was always great at bumping and selling his opponent’s offence.

Taz thinks The Usos need the Smackdown tag team Titles. He’s a big fan of their new attitude and heel gimmick, and he believes American Alpha would benefit from chasing The Usos in an attempt to re-claim their Title belts. He still thinks that American Alpha are suffering from an identity crisis, and they need to work at establishing who they are as individual performers.
