As seen on Tuesday’s episode of Talking Smack, Miz made fun of Bryan for not wrestling due to “his head.” Bryan responded by telling The Miz, “We’ll see in a year and a half, we’ll see what happens.” Bryan’s remarks lead many to speculate that once his WWE contract is up, he will be headed back to work the independent circuit.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Bryan is considering a new, safer in-ring style and one of his goals has been to work in CMLL. Bryan’s new in-ring style would be lower risk but allow him to have interesting matches.
The belief for awhile now is that Bryan was rushed into retirement back in February of 2016 by Vince McMahon. The indication that Bryan was given is that WWE will never clear him to wrestle even though Bryan has seen other concussion specialists that have. Basically, Bryan is high risk for the company.
It should be interesting to see what happens once his contract runs up in 2018.
