Russo shares some of his thoughts on Fastlane’s main event between Goldberg and Kevin Owens. He thinks that this is the perfect example of the issues that he has with WWE’s creative as of late. This finish was the simplest possible finish that they could have done, and it required zero effort whatsoever. He says that the creative team probably thought that up within 2 or 3 minutes.
He also points out that WWE spent so much time and effort building Owens as a credible threat, and they could have protected him much better in the finish of this match. Russo says if he was booking it, he might have gotten Lesnar involved in the finish so they could protect Owens creatively while still beating him.
Russo shoots down all the rumours that he might be returning to Impact Wrestling. He says that he moved to a cabin in the woods of Indiana for a reason; he has no interest in working for Impact Wrestling anymore. He tried returning to TNA several times in the past, and he has no intention of trying that again.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
