Ryback is joined on today’s show by his co-host Pat Buck.
Ryback opens today’s show speaking about how vital ring gear is to your overall appearance as a professional wrestler. He says that ring gear is one of the biggest decisions you have to make as a wrestler because you could be in really good shape, but if you put on the wrong size trunks or tights it can make you look terrible.
Buck overheard two men talking backstage at an indie event several days ago, who were discussing the fact that overweight performers like Kevin Owens have paved the way for other heavier performers to have success in the business. Ryback feels that’s a lazy approach, and he believes everyone should want to be in shape and take care of their bodies.
He says that he has nothing against Kevin Owens and he actually likes Owens a lot. Just because he’s a heavier wrestler, that doesn’t mean that other heavier wrestlers on the indie scene are more likely to have success now. For one, none of those guys are Kevin Owens in terms or personality and charisma, and Owens’ weight has never interfered with his performance or his cardio in the ring.
Ryback speaks about the news that Beth Phoenix will be entering the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017. He says that Phoenix was always a very nice person who worked very hard, and had consistently good matches. He says that you’ll never hear a bad thing about Phoenix.
