Sting has been part of AEW for over three years and is currently engaged in a significant storyline that is expected to culminate in his retirement this week. Ahead of his final match, the types of Sting footage AEW can use at Revolution has been revealed.

In case you missed it, Sting is set to have his final match on March 3rd at AEW Revolution 2024. The WWE Hall of Famer is scheduled to team up with Darby Allin to defend their AEW Tag Team Championships in a tag team tornado match against the Young Bucks.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that when it comes to Sting’s footage for use on Revolution, WWE owns all his footage from Mid South, Jim Crockett Promotions, and WCW.

AEW has acquired his New Japan footage, which is anticipated to be used in this week’s event, and they are likely to obtain the NOAH footage as well. It is not expected that any of the WWE-owned footage will be part of the PPV show.

Sting will also main event the AEW Revolution pay-per-view on March 3rd. Fans might get to see Lex Luger attend the event as well. It remains to be seen how Sting’s final match in AEW will turn out.
