The Rock and his business partners Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital bought the XFL. A judge has now decided that they can proceed with the purchase.

There was opposition from the XFL’s creditors about The Rock and his partners buying the defunct football league for $15 million. That is now over and The Rock is part owner of his own football league.

United States District Judge Laurie Silverstein allowed the purchase to go through in court today. This sale includes $9 in payment to remedy previous debt.

There were more than 30 people or groups interested in buying the XFL, but The Rock’s group was the only qualified bid.
