Buddy Matthews has had an interesting run both in the WWE and in AEW. The talented superstar has performed well to his expectations, but it looks like he may be taking a break.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Buddy Matthews appeared on Fight Life Pro Wrestling on the 24th of September and highlighted the way ahead in his career.

I appreciate that. Unfortunately, tonight, I’m going to be the bearer of some unfortunate news. As everyone knows, the House of Black has had some issues lately. As all the members of the house, I’m speaking for them all, we want to thank you all for being members of the house. Unfortunately, I, like some of the other members, need to go away for a while. I need to recalibrate. I need to figure out some things. As my brother Malakai once said, this isn’t goodbye, this is see you later.

While this may seem familiar to what Malakai Black said on Prestige Wrestling on September 17. It may just be the bend and not the end as some of us expect it to be.

It’s possible that after he wrestled at AEW Rampage Grand Slam, teaming with Brody King and losing to Darby Allin & Sting in a street fight, he may have had a change of heart.

His approach seems simple, but whether this is due to the WWE’s creative change or some other reason, we would have to see that. The news does bring uncertainty to the AEW Locker Room.
